Silent Auction

The Tien Lung Competitive Program is hosting a silent auction on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at the Baturyn Community Hall, 10505-172 Avenue. Tickets are available at the front desk for $10.00 per person, no minors please. Doors will open at 6:30pm. Your admission includes dinner, demos, dance and silent auction. Any donations for this event will be accepted at the Front Desk. Please attend and show your support for our future World Champions! If you require a letter from the club to solicit donations, please ask at the Front Desk

Bring a Buddy Day!

On Saturday March 22nd we are having a Bring a Buddy Day! Bring your friends and family to the Dojang to attend your class with you. Show off what you have learned in class, its a good way to check off "yes" on your qualification code. Pick up your waivers at the front desk. If you are in PREP class, there are no buddies allowed for this class. Black Belt class this day will be combined with White Belt class at 9:00am, and all are invited to bring their buddy to class.

Remember: Your buddy must sign a buddy waiver! Pick yours up at the Front Desk!

Easter Weekend Schedule

Good Friday, March 21st: Competitive Classes canceled

Saturday, March 22nd: Regular Class times remember to bring your buddy!
-Black Belt class will join White Belt class, as black belt class will be canceled. White Belts and Black Belts: bring your buddies to class!!!
-Red Belt to Black Stripe prep class, please don't bring a buddy, we are having your regular prep class.

Easter Egg Hunt (Red Floor) begin as follows:
10:30 - Age 4-7
12:45- Age 8-12

Easter Sunday, March 23rd: Competitive Classes canceled
Easter Monday, March 24th: All Classes Canceled

White Belt Graduation

We will be having a White Belt Graduation on Saturday, March 15th during White Belt Class from 9:00-10:00am. WHITE BELT CLASS WILL BE CANCELED, GRADUATION ONLY. Please book a meeting with the Membership Director to ensure that you have enough time to fill out your Qualification Code and Intent to Promote form. If you have any questions please see your Instructor or the Front Desk.

Graduation Day

The Graduation will be on May 3rd and the location will be confirmed in next month's newsletter. If you are scheduled to graduate, please ensure that you hand your book to Mr. Santos, Mr. Pagnotta, Ms. Schwanke or Mr. Pham (for Black Belts) no later than Saturday, April 26th! All paperwork and stripes MUST be completed by then. There will be NO last minute stripe testing, so plan ahead. Feel free to bring friends, family and your camera to the graduation! There will be a $2.00 admission for family and guests.

Tracksuits on Sale

For the month of March, we will have our tracksuits on sale for $125.00 (no additional discounts will be applied). If you want to show your school pride, and have this quality tracksuit for years to come, get yours this month! Sizes are limited, so first come first served.

White Belt to Green Belt Seminar

This Seminar is conducted by Mr. & Mrs. Wisniewski and Mr. Gaudet right here at the North Dojang and is open to ALL levels, White Belt and up. It will take place on Saturday, April 19th and the topics covered will be: Patterns, Step Sparring, Self Defense, Board Breaking, and if time permits Sparring and Stretching. The cost is only $42.00 (BBC-$33.60 MC-$29.40) for a whole day with a 6th Dan and two 5th Dans! Please register at the Front Desk.

Attention recently graduated Black Belts and Black Stripes: You must attend this seminar some time before your black belt exam to satisfy your Qualification Code! As well, you will want to register as soon as possible as there will be members coming from the South Side and Grand Prairie.

Just when you thought you would have to go back to school, Spring Break comes along! Come to the Tien Lung Spring Break camp from Monday, March 31st to Friday, April 4th. Hosted by Mr. Santos and Miss Schwanke. You can enjoy the activities you have come to love at Tien Lung’s camps with some twists and turns along the way. The cost is $150.00 ($120.00 BBC, $105.00 MC), and you can sign up at the Front Desk. A GREAT way to get extra stamps!!

Game Day

Sometimes after all the hard work you put into training, it's fun to switch gears, and do something different. On Wednesday, March 12th, we're doing just that! Come to Taekwon-Do at your regular class time and get your workout by playing games! This is a great way to unwind and do something a little different for a change.

Once upon a time there was a stonecutter. The stonecutter lived in a land where a life of privilege meant being powerful. Looking at his life he decided that he was unsatisfied with the way things were and so he set up to become the most powerful thing in the land.

Looking around his land he wondered to himself what it was to be powerful. Looking up he saw the sun shining down on all the land. "The sun must be the most powerful thing that there is, for it shines down on all things, and all things grow from its touch." So he became the sun.

Days later, as he shone his power down on the inhabitants of the land there came a cloud that passed beneath him obscuring his brilliance. Frustrated, he realized that the sun was not the most powerful thing in the land, if a simple cloud could interrupt his greatness. So, he became a cloud, in fact, he became the most powerful storm the world had ever seen. And so he blew his rain and lightening, and resounded with thunder all over the land, demonstrating that he was the most powerful. Until one day he came across a boulder.

Frustrated again, he realized that the storm was not the most powerful thing in the land; rather it must be the boulder. So he became the boulder. For days he sat, unmovable and impassive, demonstrating his power, until one day a stonecutter came and chiseled him to bits.
